After many years of writing the weekly FYI from BSF newsletter, I was excited to move to Substack. My goal is to continue what I know readers value in the “FYI,” and build upon it.

I believe that government can and should do good things for people - provide high-quality schools, promote prosperity for all, plan for a shared future, and more.

Too often, we fail to acknowledge the problems that block this progress, or adopt solutions that could move us all forward.

I spend each week digesting news and research and analyzing data so you don’t have to. My goal is not to editorialize, or merely inform.

I hope Boston Focus will provoke thought and maybe even some action, specifically on the topics of schools, government, housing, infrastructure, and other public policies that can make all of our lives better.
